Kitchel is an asset

Wednesday October 25, 2006

To the Editor:
Sen. Jane Kitchel has proven herself to be a powerful voice for Caledonia and Orange counties during her first term in the state Legislature. I am writing to support Jane Kitchel for a second term on a personal level.

I served on the board of trustees of the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium with Jane as a fellow board member during a period of time when she held the position of secretary of the Agency of Human Services, one of the biggest jobs in Vermont state government. I was immensely impressed by Jane's unflagging commitment to her local communities and to the museum.

She worked extremely hard, was always present, and her knowledge, wisdom and interpersonal skills were and are a tremendous asset to the museum and to her local communities.

Because of the many years, Sen. Kitchel is devoted to serving the people of Vermont in state government. She knows how things work, how to advocate, how to solve problems in local communities, and how to get jobs done. She knows how to balance her commitments in her work as a senator, with her commitments to her community and with personal demands.

She is always available to talk with her constituents. She returns calls promptly, and has deep respect and caring for those she represents. Jane Kitchel is not only a talented, effective senator, but a fine human being. We need her in Montpelier.
